Play More Softball, Lose weight!!

Sports

On Tuesday 21st of October 2014, Room 6 went in front of Room 1 and 2 to play softball. When we arrived there, we sat in front of our coaches. Their names were Debbie and Santana and they were both females. Debbie and Santana first introduced themselves and started to explain to us about the home base, first base , second base and third base.

After Debbie told us all about the bases, she put us into two groups and I was in the home base team with Cheska, Patelesio, Ingrid, Immanuel, Miguel, Drey, Lasike, Philomena, Julius, Siu, R.J, Aiden and Isaac. The rest of the class was put in the second base team. We had to run around the bases and put our feet on each base. My team won but even if the other group lost, we still cheered for the last person running in their group.

Debbie called us in and put us into two equal group. My partner was Jayviah. I was facing towards him and he was facing towards me. Debbie gave us one ball per pair. I had the ball and I held onto it. After Debbie gave us the ball, our partner had to do a butterfly upon their face so that they could catch the ball. I threw the ball towards Jayviah and he caught the ball in his butterfly fingers, but then he threw the ball too hard and I missed it.

After we threw the ball at each other, we had a challenge. The challenge was that if we threw the ball at our partner and our partner missed the ball, then we had to sit down. After Debbie explained to us the instructions, we started playing the first round. Jayviah missed my throw and we had to sit down. After the second round, a lot of people missed the ball and the only people left standing was Patelesio amd Santana. Then on the last round, Jayviah and I were the second to last standing with Santana and Lasike. Santana and I were the only girls standing, and Lasike and Jayviah was the only boys standing. Jayviah threw the ball short and I couldn't catch the ball but I did try to jump for it. So we lost and Lasike and Santana won the challenge.

I really enjoyed playing with Debbie and Santana. I am looking forward to our next practice.

Maui finally stood up for himself and said “I did it. I was the one that put out the fire in the pa”. The people were furious and they wanted to put Maui in prison for 50 years. But then something happened, the leader of the pa said to Maui “You may think prison” Then there came a big BOOM  like thunder. And the voice continued “But there is only one thing to do”. Maui asked,
“What a great leader you are. What can I do?”

The leader told Maui “You can go and see your ancestor, the goddess of fire”. Maui was looking for the cave where his ancestor lived. The cave  was brown and covered with flames. The goddess of fire was really proud of Maui, but Maui tricked her. He said, “Someone has put out the fires in the pa. May I have some of your fiery fingers?”
She replied, “Oh, of course you can Maui.”
However, Maui tricked her and stomped out the fire finger and threw it in the water. Maui kept tricking her until she only had one fire finger left. She was really CROSS, so cross that she threw her fiery finger at him. He quickly turned into a bird and dodged the flames.

He thought he was so good at getting away with it so he shut his eyes. However, he was wrong and the bottom of his wings caught on fire.  Maui flew back to the pa and said “The goddess did not give me her fire but on the way back I learnt how to make fire with sticks”. So he showed them how to make fire. It took some time but the flames slowly came up and this is how the story of making fire with sticks came about.

My little brother wanted to go home but my uncle said that there was something that we had to do before going home. My brother cried out loud like a dragon coming down to the ground. So my uncle told him that we could go home and drop him off first.

When we got home, my auntie said to us,“Go and change into your clean clothes”. We got changed and put on our shoes and we all rushed to the car like racing cars. Then we locked the car because we were so excited. My auntie drove the car and we were off to get our surprise.

We went to McDonalds to get some ice cream. My uncle and auntie wanted to sign something so we went. Soane, Akesa and I thought that we were going home but we went to Wendy’s. I told my auntie that I haven’t tried Wendy’s before and my auntie said “It comes with free ice cream”. However, I told my uncle that we already ate ice cream at McDonalds so my uncle asked “What do you want beef or chicken?” Soane wanted to have a beef burger and so did my uncle. Akesa and I wanted to have chicken. Wendy was more organised than McDonald’s because their service was a lot faster.

We went to the park and my uncle said that the surprise was that we were getting rabbits. I asked him if they were wild rabbits with red eyes and he answered ‘Yes’. We were so excited because we wanted to catch those rabbits. Rabbits are so cute. We got to the park and we didn’t see any rabbits because there were a lot of dogs and children. After a minute, the children and the dogs left the park. When they left, the rabbits had disappeared as well.

Janet put a really heavy thing over the horses that we were going to ride to make us comfortable during the horseride. I was excited but, I was praying that I would not fall down because I was scared that I might break my bones if I did.

I went really tall, when I got on the horses back. I looked down their was no way near touching the ground with my foot. She only says Don’t worry because if you think if you think you are going to fall down and hurt yourself it will never come true’ and I replied back ‘Thank you for saying that.’

We walk up and down the road and people was staring at us. And I thought that they think we are crazy riding the horse down the street.  I was really scared because the horse might run off and have a accident while I am on its back.

Their first song was Beethoven, I really enjoyed it. They were really good at playing their own instruments. They were playing their first song called Romance and it sounded really nice and loud when they put all the instruments together.

After they played the first song, we heard a loud sound coming from the front where the stairs are. We thought that something fell but it wasn't, it was two pirates. We were scared because he had make up on and it made his face look scary like a real pirate. He also picked his nose and nearly put it on someone in Room 2.
