Pokemon Go!

Plan:
The person Talking: Caroline
My best friend: Jessie
What happened: Jessie was so distracted by the new game that had pop out called ‘Pokemon.’

“Ahhhh, a new game just came out!” said Jessie cheerfully,
I asked her, “What is the game called?”
She replied excitedly, “Its….its….its called POKEMON GO! I was so confused, I had no idea what that game was. Usually I knew all games that were upgraded into play store because I have hacked into it.

The next day flew past, Jessie was so addicted to Pokemon Go, she couldn’t concentrate and trace the words coming out from my mouth. “OHH nooooooo, noooooo. Damn it I lost Victini man!” shouted Jessie.
Jessie, Jessie, JESSIE!” I said madly.
“Huh?” Was her reply. Thinking to myself, looking at her grippy hands wrapped around the phone. I quickly snatched it off her.  “Why did you do that, it’s my phone?!”
“All you do is ignore me now, you're brainwashed by that game now I’m feeling lonely because you’re the only one in this world I know.” she said,
“But...this is really cool!”
I told her instantly, “Don’t worry you weren’t important anyways because I can make friends.” (I threw her phone at her) She stop and she started listening. On her face was a worried look. So I knew she’d care about me anyway but I left because I would’ve said a swear word but I was now turned into a good girl.

Relaxing in my bed, looking and scrolling down Instagram and Facebook,  II suddenly heard the bell ring. I ignored it. It rang and rang, so eventually,  I went down the steps taking deep breathes in and out. It was Jessie. I signed then I opened the door and said, “Have you found your attracted Pokemon Go’s!”
“No I didn’t, Jessie said sadly.
“So why you here!?” I replied angrily.
“I’m sorry, look you're right I was addicted to that game!” she said.   I started apologizing for forcing her to focus on me and saying that I didn’t care about her anymore.  We both walked into my room, jumped onto the bed and showed Jessie my latest updates on Facebook and on Instagram.

Mum came back from work, she’d bought us both Big Mac’s, with extra large drinks and chips as a treat. It was so yummy, next time we will be able to both play Pokemon Go together.

As part of our independent reading programme we use Kiwikidsnews to learn about news in New Zealand (national news) and around the world (international news).
Walht:  Read closely to analyse an article and to think critically about the messages within them.

Thinking:

1. Find a quote from the main person in this news article?

2. In your own words describe what happened in this news article.
In this interesting and amazing article, it tells us about the Austrian airline took 8 minutes.

3. Find out where this event took place and include some information about this place.
This article took place at Austria where the international airplane took 8 minutes to fly to their destination.

4. Tell us when this event happened and explain what might happen in the future.
This event happened on November the 7th 2016. Hopefully in the future all planes will go much more faster instead of hours sitting on the plane.

5. Explain in your own words why this event took place.
This took place because of the idea that this plane is the fastest plane arriving within 8 minutes.

6. Use the Dictionary in the bottom right hand corner to find the meaning of 3 words from the article.
Conditions- Situations.
Recently- Lately just happened.

Distance- space between two points or things.

Choices, Judgement, and Life after death!

WALHT:  Describe the relationship between the person one becomes life, and one's life after death.

As we journey through life, we have the choices and actions that will enter into purgatory, as we patiently wait for God's judge us how we will live our life.

Saint Mary's!

Image result
Saint Mary:

When I had my confirmation at the Saint Patrick’s Parish I chose Saint Mary’s. I chose her myself because I was inspired by her and she admired me. I also wanted to follow her footsteps where she would lead me to a place where there is no trouble but to be humble and where I can also find love, caring and to be fair and just.

Make the right decisions!

Making Decisions

Scenario:
The Year seven class had just finished a maths unit and as usual were
Having a test. The teacher had said it was an important test because
She wanted to regroup the class. Chris wanted to be in the group with
His friends Joe and Siu, but he knew they were way better than him. The
Test was hard but Chris recognised some of the examples were straight.
From the book where he had written in the answers. No one saw him
Take a quick look at the book. It wasn’t a big deal. When the teacher
Handed back the tests Chris was delighted to be in the top group with
His friends. After school the teacher asked him how come he had done
          So well in the test?
What should Chris do?

A. List Options:

1. Had told the truth.

2. Said had no idea

3. He could’ve said that he was practising at home.

B Say what is right or wrong about each option.

Option 1: The right thing to do is that he told the truth about his wrong choice.

Option 2: The wrong choice is that he’s lying that he said he had no idea.

Option 3. Also it is wrong if you lie again that you practised at home.
C.  Say what would be the consequences of each option for everyone concerned.

  1. Have told the truth at the first place.

2. detention for a week.

3. Suspended for two week and community Service.

S. Say what values you think lie behind each option and tick those that reflect gospel values -  the values of Jesus.
1.   Truthful

2. Honesty

3. Carefulness
E. Say which option you would have chosen and why.

Telling the truth is consequential because reporting a truth that isn't true isn't right and, at that point you're committing a sin. Telling the truth is way better than lying because you could end up with bad consequences.

Summary:

Sometimes making decision in life isn't as easy as we think, we have the options to choose between positive and negative. In life we experience good and bad could lead us to something that gives us the decision to choose again in positive and negative.

This way bird!

L:I: My group created a presentation on how to build a simple structure to attract birds.

This was the result after our inquiry this term where we built our knowledge about helping our garden to become pest free.  One of these ideas was to bring birds into the garden to eat the pests.
The above is the result of our research.

Yah it's a baby girl!

On the 17th of April 2016, my mother started to be in pain which meant that she was going to have a baby. She grabbed a notebook and started to write down the time when she starts to be in pain. She kept on writing down the time. After 20 minutes, the pain kept on getting quicker and sore. We were all ready and settle just in case it was time to go hospital. I was scared that she might get in so much pain that something might happen to her body and her baby. My mum already packed the baby’s clothes and hers. We had to buy white baby clothes for the baby because we didn’t know what gender it was going to be.
After two pains she said, “I think I'm ready to go to the hospital now!” In a painful tune. We all hopped into the van and my mother went and kissed my great grandma. Tears in her eyes started to drip down as she cried. As she stepped into the van she was in pain again. Driving down to Auckland Hospital she was okay.
We finally arrived at the hospital entrance, where the drop off parking is. My mum went off with my two older brothers (Taniela and Folau) and my third youngest brother(Johnny). My fourth brother(Soane) and I went with my dad because I was scared to see my mother in pain. She tried to walk but she couldn't because this time was a massive pain she had, had.. My cousin and my auntie was there as well for Divine Mercy at Filipo’s dad. They thought that we were here for Divine Mercy as well. Once they saw my mum in pain they stopped and thinked they we were here for something else. My auntie grabbed a wheelchair for her to be pushed in up to level nine where mothers are ready to give birth.
My Dad, brother and I went and parked at the new parking and then went off quickly and went up on the elevator. The elevator stopped, and we walked like racing cars. We got to the room but, I didn't want to go inside because I was afraid.
As my dad open the door I tightly closed  my eyes, took a deep breath and forced myself to take that first step into the room. There walking around the bed, trying her best to distract her mind from the pain of the contractions. The nurse asked, ” Would you like the children to leave the room now?” Her response was, “Yes’. I was relieved to hear that.  If she had of  said ‘no they can stay,  I would be have been  blocking my ears and biting my teeth like a rat would do so, I sighed and said  “lucky me” then, wiped my forehead. The nurse showed us the family room where we could sit down, watch t.v.  and wait!
We waited and waited to get a sign from my dad. I was on you tube, and had practically forgotten that I was in hospital. A short time later I saw my  dad standing in the doorway. I asked him if mum had already had the baby but his reply was that he needed to go toilet so we all sighed at the same time. He kept on coming to check up on us several times to be sure we were all  okay. I began to get worried and thought that maybe something was. I focused my attention on pictures of my mum in her phone. I started to laugh at the funny times we had together.
After 5 minutes, my dad showed up again but in my mind I thought that he was going to tell us something bad. He told me that mum wanted me. I felt like rocks were on top of me feeling tears building up behind my eyes. At that point I was terrified and started to think that maybe was going to lose her. I asked my dad if she had already given birth, while my brothers were listening.  His reply was, “No” I felt like crying  at that moment, in my head I was scared that I was going to have to go back to the room and see her in pain once again. At the door, I took another breath as my dad opened it. I waited for a moment and took another deep breathe. I entered the room.  I saw a head lying on my mum’s chest and I was in great shock. She was purple which meant that she needed to be warm because her temperature was very cold that was the reason why she was laid on top of my mum’s chest. One of the other nurses said, “Congratulations you have a baby sister!” I walked over to my mum and she said, “What are you going to name her?”
“I’ll call her Maria Elisabeth Tupou!” I proudly said. Her middle name is after our grandma and my mum started to smile and said, “What a beautiful name!” My dad went and called my brothers to come and see the baby. They all came and touch the baby. They kept on asking my mum questions which was bothering her in a funny way. Maria was so tiny and  she was the smallest baby out of all of us. One of the nurses said that she will check the weight. After Maria had been weighed she was too light. When the nurse checked her blood sugar it was very low so my mum and Maria didn't go to Birth care because Maria needed so much support from the hospital to make her blood sugar rise. The nurse put her in a incubator, where it supports her body to get warm.
It was dark and my mum was starting to feel tired. One of the nurses decided that we should  go home because my mum was going to another room with Maria. We helped my mum carry all her clothes and the car seat for the baby. Then we went up to level 10 and into room 15. Once we were all ready, we kissed them both with a smile on faces with a sign saying both welcome and goodbye. It was definitely a night to remember.

The Believer!!

Who? A little boy called Jason.
What?
Why?
Time? midnight 12:00pm
where? San Bernardino
When? August the 18th 1957

On Monday the 18th of August in 1857, there was a little boy called Jason who was 11 years old, lived in San Bernardino.  He had been asleep for 100 years. He never believed in anything or anyone especially in his father and himself.
One day, everything changed. The road was blasting with all cars blazing and guns exploding like  fireworks, people were stealing from shops. Jason the little boy, woke up hearing his father saying to him, “Wake up you need to save your people!” Jason opened his eyes slowly and everything stopped like there was going to be an earthquake.

Once his eyes were fully opened, he could see demons controlling his people straight away. Jason was the only one who could see demons because he has a third eye (according to his father).

Jason was more powerful than ever and could compete with the demons but, could compete with the King’s son or the King of demons. Jason prayed to God to be brave and give him strength  to save his people from harm. He trained and trained as hard as he could. He was tough  himself that he did not have any break time from morning to night until dinner. The demons kept coming but there was one thing he could do to save his people. He had to believe in himself and trust his father.

A while later, he found his father’s old book. He opened the book and on the first page it said, “Believe in yourself Jason!” Jason stopped and thought for a while. Then looked carefully at the page again. In the meantime, he did start to tell himself to start believing in himself and to always trust his father. A minute past and everything was back to normal. He couldn’t see anymore demons and all his people weren’t fighting, and stealing.

The streets and roads were back to normal and he finally knew that the demons weren’t real and he was only dreaming.

THE END!!!
